Who is the course for? This course is for students wishing to study Fashion Design or Surface Design at a higher level. This course provides the learner with a comprehensive introduction to the world of fashion, styling and surface pattern. What can it lead to? Careers in fashion design, styling, fashion illustration, fashion promotion, buying and journalism, costume design for film or theatre, surface pattern or knitwear. What will I study? The course will essentially develop your understanding of fashion design and related subjects, and help you to prepare a fashion portfolio for university. You will learn through practical and critical activities to express and gain knowledge of the different areas within fashion, styling, illustration and surface design by creating sketchbooks full of research, ideas and development. You will learn to design, illustrate and make garments and accessories, and develop your styling skills via photography.
