The certification is an introduction to the primary aspects of working with children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16 in play environments. It provides an understanding of the importance of play and play work in children and young people's lives. The certificate is mainly knowledge based with limited amount of practical application. It is aimed at those who wish to work in a supervised role in a wide range of Play work environment. Personal skills will be developed in addition to English, Mathematics and ICT. Real work experience required as learners must show competence.
