This one or two year programme will cover the following: -Personal & Social Development -English -Maths -ICT -Enterprise Skills -Home Cooking Skills -Road Safe Skills -Personal Progress -Money and Finance Skills -Work Skills -Skills for Independent Living The programme is based on building your independence and the programme will be taught by lecturers who are qualified and experienced in teaching students with learning difficulties/disabilities. All staff will help you to improve your communication skills, money management skills, independence skills while building your confidence and independence through a whole range of opportunities. The programme will be taught in small groups (maximum of nine). The programme will be supported by one or two experienced Learning Support Assistants. A variety of leisure and outdoor pursuits/activities will be included within this programme. You may also have the opportunity to take part in work experience activities.You will be assessed on a two day assessment before being offered a place and assessment will continue throughout the programme. You will spend time in the classroom, kitchen and workshop, and off-site covering a variety of written and practical work, working as part of a team and you will be encouraged to make choices and follow your interests. Regular tutorials between yourself and your personal tutor will be held to discuss your progress.The programme is specifically designed for students with a severe to moderate learning difficulty/disability.
