This qualification will suit you if you are an adult new to the childcare and education sector or are working as a teaching or learning support assistant in a supervised role or volunteering within a school. This qualification will develop the knowledge and skills needed when supporting teaching and learning in primary, secondary or special schools. ideally you will be working or volunteering in a school for a minimum of 8 hours per week. You will also need to have a mentor in your placement. The qualification is also suitable for people who are working or wish to work as a Learning Support Assistant or Special Educational Needs Assistant. The course is internally assessed by a range of methods. this includes direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence and written assignments. You will meet regularly with the tutor and be assessed within the workplace. To enter you must be at least 19 years of age with GCSES or equivalent at D grade. You will also need to have a DBS check in place which will normally be carried out by your place of work.
