A GCSE in English is vital in today's job market and a minimum requirement for many courses. This course is designed to develop confidence and competence in speaking and listening, reading and writing skills. It will also help improve your grammar, spelling and punctuation, encourage active reading and develop your ability to write for different audiences and purposes.
Name: English Language - GCSE Qualification title: GCSE (9-1) in English Language Qualification type: GCSE or equivalent Assessment Reading and writing skills will be assessed through 2 one-hour examinations and a controlled assessment. A folder of coursework will be completed in class but under exam conditions. This will comprise descriptive writing, a short story, an essay on a set novel and a commentary on a spoken English text.
