Performing Arts (Acting) 90-Credit Diploma

The 90-credit diploma gives you a solid understanding of performing arts acting practices, skills and techniques. The course is designed mainly for school leavers who have experience of Drama or Performing Arts at GCSE level, as well as having a passion and desire to explore the diverse subject area that is covered by Performing Arts. You will study for two years and develop your performance skills and self-confidence through a variety of disciplines. You will learn the skills to develop as a performer through the study of method acting techniques, physical theatre, acting for camera, voice and improvisation work and you will participate in three public performances per year.--The 90 Credit Diploma consists of 9 units equalling 90 Credits. These will be delivered through the year and will carry over into the Extended Diploma. The course is a 2-year programme, with the option of opting out after completing 1 year. The overall equivalence of a 90 Credit Diploma is that of 3 AS Levels. Anyone who is 16 or 17 at the start of the 90 Credit Diploma is able to progress onto the second year (Extended Diploma) for free, but fees will apply for those who will be 19+.--This course is part of a wider study programme, which includes a tutorial and personal development element, work experience opportunities through outside set projects and design challenges, development of English and Maths Skills through embedded activities.
