On this course you will study the ideas and themes behind key dramatic texts and explore these through practical workshops, leading to your own presentations and performances. You will have the opportunity to develop both your analytical and research skills, as well as demonstrate and explore your practical ideas and ability. Content: You will work in a small group to create a devised performance, and you will write about this in your coursework. You will also study two plays from the viewpoint of a director, for a written exam. On this course you will have the opportunity to go on a number of trips. In the past we have seen productions in London at the National Theatre; Almeida; Old Vic, and we have had tours of Shakespeare's Globe and the National. Students have also done workshops at the Globe; Almeida; as well as with Frantic Assembly and Kneehigh. We also offer students the chance to see local productions at the Theatre Royal Brighton and Chichester.
