Media Studies (AS / A Level)

This course will develop your analytical skills which will allow you to interpret the messages presented by the mass media. AS Modules - In Understanding Media you will learn media language and begin to identify and analyse how media language is used in media texts to create messages and meanings. In Creating Media you will apply your understanding of media texts to creating a portfolio of work for your own media products. A2 Modules - In Critical Perspectives you develop analysis skills to consider contexts of the messages such as social political historical and economic contexts. In Critical Investigation you will apply your knowledge and understanding of the media and will complete a portfolio of research and production work.
