The IMI Extended Diploma is designed to provide an enhanced learning programme to meet the future needs of the modern Vehicle Technician and Master Technician. The aim of the qualification is to develop the necessary knowledge and understanding required of diagnostic and repair technicians and to provide students with progression opportunities for career development and further study. At each level and route of the IMI Awards Extended Diploma the qualifications are split into applied units including Vehicle Science Vehicle Mathematics and Information Communication Technology for Vehicle Repair. The units include:- Remove and Replace Engine Unit Components.- Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Auxiliary Electrical Units and Components.- Remove and Replace Light Vehicle Chassis Units and Components.- Carry Out Routine Vehicle Maintenance.
