This course is aimed at students who are interested in studying Textile Design and Fashion as a broad subject area and is flexible to meet your interests and aspirations. In your first year you will undertake the core units the content of which includes:Drawing painting and other marl making -Exploring the uses of media and techniques -Developing concept designs -Generating and presenting work to an audience -Study of Art and Design Practice In the second year of the course you will specialise in your chosen area of study which may include:Printed Textiles for Fabrics -Garment Construction -Accessories for Fashion -Mixed Media -Portfolio Building -Surface Pattern -Major ProjectThe specialist units will be underpinned by a solid grounding in basic Art & Design skills with opportunities to work with a broad range of students in other creative disciplines on collaborative projects.These assignments are complemented by a range of study visits to galleries outside exhibitions fashion shows and foreign study visits.Subsidiary Diploma. Diploma and Extended Diploma routes are available.
