Study for a British Computer Society Qualification (BCS) in this workshop. There is a choice of either Entry Level or Level 1 depending on your experience and prior knowledge. Available within the workshop are: BCS Award in Digital Skills This entry level award qualification offers you the opportunity to gain basic computer skills such as; how to get online, do internet searches, use email and an introduction to the basic computer skills required for employment. It features an engaging inter-active learning system that remembers your progress, helping you to advance at a comfortable pace. Alongside the interactive learning system you will also have some 'hands on' experience of technology such as using a Digital camera to take your own pictures and creating and using a Facebook account for personal use or career progression. ECDL Essentials There are three assessments in this level 1 qualification - basic concepts of IT, Security for Users and using the internet and emails. Attendance at one of the computer qualifications workshops is required on a weekly basis to achieve this qualification. You can start the course at any time and will usually complete within 6 months. This level is designed specifically for those who wish to build on their basic knowledge and improve their understanding of computer applications.
