This hands-on course develops your practical skills in a range of disciplines, which may include Milling, Turning, Welding and Sheet Metal Work. These skills are highly sought after by local employers and prepares you well for a great career. In addition to the practical work, you may study for a Technical Certificate, a vital requirement of the industry. You will perform much of your work in our fully equipped industrial grade machine workshop, which is problably the best in the region. All full-time students who have not achieved a GCSE grade C or above in English Language and Maths will continue to study a qualification in English and Maths with an ultimate goal of achieving a grade C or above at GCSE. To support progression towards GCSE we have several stepping stone qualifications in English and Maths including Pre-GCSE and Functional Skills. Learners with an A* - C in GCSE English and Maths will follow a Stretch and Challenge programme. You will be able to select from a dynamic suite of qualifications relating to your subject area.
