What will I do on this study programme? This programme of study offers a wide choice of opportunities if you have a passion for applying make-up and styling hair. You will explore and develop skills across many areas under the guidance of highly trained and professional lecturers. You will taught to provide make-up, hair, special effects and prosthetics from character makeup for musicals to high fashion for catwalk and to maintain a professional attitude for this challenging industry. It will give you the very best chance of progression into your individual specialist choices. With the use of our recently refurbished facilities you will have an amazing experience on this practical and work-related study programme. Some of the topics you will study include Make-up and application for performers Body make-up Special effects make-up and prosthetics for performers Drawing design skills Production planning and performing arts business Historical context of performance Period make-up and hairstyling for stage Hairstyling and dressing for performers. Maths and English is a fundamental element of this study programme. Skills in Maths and English will be embedded into your academic/ vocational learning. If you do not have a grade C in Maths or English you will attend a discrete GCSE or Functional Skills class as part of your weekly timetable. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through practical and written assignments by both internal and external moderators. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Higher Education degrees Further specialist training University of Arts London Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. Job/career opportunities Photographic make-up; retail make-up artist; fashion make-up artist, special effects make-up technician, theatre/TV/film make-up artist.
