The course comprises eight mandatory units: Developing and promoting positive relationships Helping to keep children safe Promoting positive behaviour Supporting pupils' learning activities Supporting literacy development Supporting numeracy development Supporting the development and effectiveness of work teams Using Information Communication Technology to support pupils' learning A good standard of English and Maths is required. Applicants should have successfully completed a Level 2 Teaching Assistants programme with a Level 2 literacy qualification. Applicants must be in paid employment/in a learning environment for a minimum of 16 hours per week and must be able to carry out the duties of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. As part of the interview process you will undertake an initial Guru assessment for Math's and English and also complete a short written assessment. Applicants who do not meet the exact entry requirements may also be considered and are invited to apply. You will be able to progress on to the Foundation Degree in Children Young People and their Services upon completion of this course.
