This degree top-up course is designed for anyone who wishes to work with horses, bridging the gap between the academic study of behaviour and its practical application in training. This programme focuses on the new and exciting area of equitation science and is designed for those who have completed an equine-related foundation degree or equivalent, and would like to top up to full honours degree. You will investigate aspects of equitation that have been taken for granted for many years, applying theory to practice, making substantial use of industry scenarios and realistic case studies throughout. The BSc (Hons) Applied Equitation Science progression to honours year delivers a contemporary curriculum based on modern research findings. The programme relies on the application of a multifaceted approach to equitation. Graduates of this BSc will be able to promote and encourage the application of objective research and advanced practice which will ultimately improve the welfare of horses in their associations with humans.
