Ideal if you have a keen interest in working with animals. You'll need a GCSE at grade C or above in English, mathematics and/or science, or an equivalent qualification. You'll learn about animal health and welfare, an introduction to animal behaviour and handling, animal housing and feeding, an introduction to animal biology, about farm livestock and work-related experience in the land-based sector. Expect to study through theory and practical work spending some time at college and in a work experience placement of your choice. You'll love the opportunity to go on field trips to local zoos, wildlife parks and animal sanctuaries. You'll go onto work in animal management or progress to further study on our Animal Management City & Guilds Subsidiary or Extended Diploma or progress to an animal care apprenticeship.
