Geology A-Level is the study of the Earth and the life that has lived on it since it was formed 4.5 billion years ago. It is a fantastic subject for anyone who wishes to study a subject that gives a long term overview to the development of the planet and the processes that happen on it and in it: Global tectonics, Rock Cycle, Economic and Environmental Geology and palaeontology are all subjects that you will cover whilst studying the subject. It is a unifying subject as it brings together a great many strands of other subjects. Maybe you want to know where we have come from. Every major world resource is stored in the ground, even the development of renewable technologies is dependent on the discovery of rare earth elements, all of which are found in the ground and require geologists to find them. Entry requirements To study A-levels you need at least 5 A*- C grades at GCSE, including designated B grades and an average GCSE Score of at least 5. The designated B grades for this can be either English Language, Maths, Science (including single sciences), Geography or History.
