Drawing Summer School - Mixed Media

Is this the right course for me? This summer school is aimed at those with some drawing skills who wish to develop their skills and explore other drawing media and develop their drawings further. What will I learn? The joys of mixed media drawing. The summer school will teach you how to work with array of mediums from charcoal, pastels, graphite, wax and ink, to develop mixed media drawings, as well as learn new techniques and approaches. You will explore and experiment using both still life and secondary imagery. Draw on an array of surfaces and develop several mark making approaches. You will learn about other artists' approaches, through practical exercises and discussion. How will I learn? Through tutor demonstrations, practical activities and whiteboard presentations. You will learn about other artists' techniques and approaches through practical exercises. By developing new skills in a variety of drawings, ensuring you are able create your own final artwork. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor. What can I do next? You may wish to join another visual arts course. Your tutor will be able to advise at the end of the session. What do I need to bring to the classes? Please bring an apron or old shirt as some media used stains clothes. There is a snack machine but a packed lunch is recommended. Can I talk to someone about my course before I start it? It is usually possible to put you directly in touch with the tutor if a member of the Community Learning MK staff cannot answer your query.
