This programme has been developed in partnership with the Faculty of Business at Oxford Brookes University and in consultation with local employers and entrepreneurs. It is designed to further your knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of business and the range of contexts and environments that organisations operate within. You will explore core business disciplines alongside the dynamic nature of enterprise developing your creativity and innovation skills and promoting new ideas.

Name: Business and Enterprise Foundation Degree Qualification title: Foundation Degree in Business, Management and Communications Qualification type: Assessment This programme will equip you with the knowledge understanding and much sought after entrepreneurial skills required to succeed in business. It is designed to meet the needs of future employment in business in today's changing economic landscape as well as enable students to progress to the final year of an honours degree in Business and Management at Oxford Brookes University. This is a varied programme which enables you to leave with the skills required to run and manage a small business.WORK-RELATED OPPORTUNITIESYou will be given the opportunity to use your work place to provide appropriate evidence for assessment. This will be particularly relevant for the Work-based Business Project but will also offer opportunities for other modules where you may be able to apply theory in practice and then provide a reflective evaluation of your experiences in a work situation.ASSESSMENT METHODSThe modules are delivered through a variety of techniques to suit all different learning styles. The teaching and learning strategies will include: group work pair activities investigations discussions case studies and note taking.The assessment you undergo will be formative and summative:FORMATIVE - designed to provide you with feedback on your progress and inform you of your ongoing development. Formative assessments such as in class exercises tests and activities do not form part of your grade.SUMMATIVE - designed to provide a measure of your achievement in respect of your performance in relation to the intended learning outcomes of your programme of study in other words the end of module assignments which determine your grades. Entry requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate that their level of English is acceptable by achieving a score in a recognised test such as:- British Council IELTS: normally minimum level 6.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in the reading and writing components - TOEFL minimum score of 550 paper-based or 213 computer-based or 80 internet-basedHOW TO APPLYYou will need to apply via UCAS for this programme. The UCAS code is N102 for City of Oxford College. The Awarding Body is Oxford Brookes University/ institution code O66. All applicants are required to attend an interview before admission to the programme.
