You'll expand your skills and creativity by trying your hand at fashion and textiles, graphics, 3D design and crafts, fine art and photography, before choosing a subject to specialise in for your second year. Importantly, you will develop a strong portfolio of work. External visits to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park or to such places as Tate Liverpool, Manchester City Gallery and the Clothes Show Live play a vital part in expanding your knowledge and ensuring you can make contacts in the industry. On the first year of the course you will be enrolled on the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma and upon successful completion you could progress to the 2nd year of the BTEC Extended Diploma in Art and Design.
