Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (City and Guilds)

Apprenticeships consist of different qualifications, each of which recognises the achievement of a specific set of skills, enhanced knowledge or level of attainment in a particular subject area. The Apprenticeship includes an, Learners taking the City and Guilds route for their technical certificate will work towards the Level 3 Certificate in Engineering in their chosen bias, in this case Maintenance Engineering. Unlike the BTEC route, the City and Guilds qualifications are assessed both across theory based learning, culminating in a series of exams, as well as by inspection of practical test pieces produced in the Learning Unlimited Derby workshops, Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths. Apprentices also develop qualities and skills needed for success in learning and life in Employee Rights & Responsibilities and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills. Suitable job roles for this Apprenticeship include, making and receiving phone calls, organising meetings and events, handling mail, record keeping and using electronic message systems and office equipment. Typical duties include, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Fluid Power, Engineered Systems, Services Maintenance, Lift Servicing, Lift Repair, Escalator Repair and Service, Communication Electronics, Servicing Medical Equipment and Instrumentation and Control
