L3 EDEXC NFD HSC Emergency Care Academy

This study programme prepares students for work within the emergency care sector or higher education. Students will study the universal principles of care which are relevant to a wide range or rewarding careers, including social workers, nurses, health visitors, carers and paramedics. Students will develop a detailed understanding of the communication skills and safeguarding procedures necessary to work safely and professionally within the social care system. Learners will complete the following over two years: BTEC L3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies), NWAS Care Certificate, Heart Start, NHS Core Skills Framework, Work experience within a variety of health care settings, Fitness programme. Students will learn through a mixture of classroom-based teaching and practical hands-on sessions using a variety of teaching methods. Students will be encouraged and supported to work alongside peers in group activities and at times also be expected to work independently to complete assignment work that has been set.
