What knowledge/skills will I learn on the course? Each student will be assessed and any previous knowledge taken into consideration then a suitable learning aim chosen to suit his or her needs and ability Depending on your assessment you will learn how to:Work with Number: Use whole numbers and formulae in everyday life to solve problems Understand calculation using negative numbers Understand and use fractions ratio and proportion Use decimals in a practical context Calculate and interpret percentages Learn about Measure and Shape and Space Understand the properties of shapes Learn to measure length weight and capacity and use them in practical contexts Get to know about Money Time and Temperature in everyday lifeCollect process and interpret Data. Collect and use data to create tables and graphs Extract and interpret from a variety of graphs Understand basic Statistics Calculate the probability of an event occurringYour tutor will give you more information about the course at your first sessionHow will I be taught and will there be any work outside the class?One 2 ½ hour lesson per week and home study is essential in order to achieve.How will I be assessed?Depending upon your particular learning aim you may produce a portfolio or take a written exam either online or paper based at the end of the course.
