What knowledge/skills will I learn on the course? Each student will be assessed and any previous knowledge taken into consideration then a suitable learning aim chosen to suit his or her needs and ability Depending on your assessment you will learn how to: Work with Number: Add and subtract using 3-digit numbers, Solve practical problems involving multiplication and division, Understand and use simple fractions, Understand decimals to 2 decimals places in practical context Round to nearest 10 or 100 Recognise and describe number patterns, Learn about Measure and Shape and Space: Recognise and name simple 2D and 3D shapes and understand their properties, Complete simple calculations involving money and measures, Understand estimate measure and compare length weight capacity and temperature, Use metric units in everyday situations, Collect process and interpret Data:, Extract use and compare information from lists tables simple charts and simple graphs. Your tutor will give you more information about the course at your first session, How will I be taught and will there be any work outside the class? One 2 hour lesson per week and home study is essential in order to achieve. How will I be assessed? Depending upon your particular learning aim you may produce a portfolio or take a written exam either online or paper based at the end of the course. This leads to an A scentis or City and Guilds qualification. What kind of feedback will I get from my tutor? Weekly feedback on your progress after homework has been submitted or after class tests. What do I need to bring with me to class? Pens pencils ruler rubber and lined paper on which to take class notes.
