The Level 3 Diploma is aimed at those people already working with children aged 0-5 years. For example, you may be working as a child minder, day care supervisor, Sure Start worker, or as a community nursery nurse. You would like to progress to having supervisory responsibilities. This qualification is compliant with the knowledge and practical skills criteria included in the Early Years Educator (Level 3) Learners will attend classroom learning of 1 full day per week for a period of 18 months Learners will need good IT skills in order to complete assignments and use our e-portfolio system To count in the ratios at level 3, staff holding an early years educator qualification must also have achieved GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C or above (New Directions does offer English and Maths GCSE) You will need to record a minimum of 730 hours (over 18 months) in an Ofsted registered early years setting in order to meet the practical elements of this course An interview is required prior to your starting this course, please contact Rebecca.richens@reading.gov.uk for further details Assessment is through observation of practice, work products and written assignments
