This course is intended to give a good introduction to a career in any of the uniformed services such as the armed forces, the ambulance service, the fire service, the police, the prison service and Customs and Excise. The Public Services have their own selection procedures and successful completion of the course prepares students for entry as well as progressing to the L3 Public Services qualification. Students develop vital skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, discipline and respect and should be prepared to develop as individuals.You will be required to work on academic assignments, fitness, teamwork and leadership together with a genuine interest in participating in sport and outdoor pursuits.
