This course is designed for all personnel engaged in the use of brushcutters, trimmers and clearing saws. The safe use of brushcutters, clearing saws and trimmers requires safe and skilful operators. This qualification will help you in your day-to-day work environment and also helps to ensure the safety of bystanders if this equipment is used in a public place. Course Content ? Risk Assessment ? Maintenance (engine, drive system and gear head) ? Selecting the appropriate cutting head ? Maintaining and fitting the cutting head ? Correct personal protective clothing ? Adjusting the machine and harness ? Inspecting the site and identifying hazards ? Environmental considerations ? Pre-use checks ? Fuelling ? Starting the machine safely ? Cutting techniques ?
