This 1 day casting workshop is suitable for complete beginners. The day will give you a basic introduction into the casting process. There will be demonstrations using a variety of molds for casting pewter , cuttlefish, plaster and silcone. You will then have the opportunity design your own small scale item, this could be jewellery, which can be cast in pewter or silver. Materials can be purchased from the college or brought in by students . Throughout the day students there will demonstrations, help and guidance. Your Course is a practical introduction to casting. You will be shown demonstrations, set tasks covering some basic metalworking techniques including: - Cutting - Filing and finishing You will develop the skills to produce: - A piece of jewellery / small scale artefact You will be taught through practical demonstrations, group and individual tuition and you will learn from hands on experience.
