Photo-etching - Introduction

This introductory course will give you a good overview of printmaking using photo-etching to transfer photographic work to etching plates and make prints.This course will give you a basic grounding in making intaglio prints using photographic images. You will be working with photosensitive emulsion and etching acids to create plates to print from, then producing fine art prints using oil-based etching inks. The course will cover: - Preparing images digitally using Photoshop - Applying, exposing and developing photographic emulsion - Etching plates ready to make prints - Mixing inks, registration and printing - Combining photo etching with other techniques - Safe printing - Health and Safety advice
