The AAT Level 3 Diploma for Accounting Technicians is a course that develops the knowledge and skills acquired on the AAT Level 2 Certificate for Accounting.Accounts Preparation Accounts Preparation is designed to develop double entry bookkeeping skills and knowledge, such as that acquired in the level 2 The learner will deal with more advanced and complex situations such as those needed for preparing final accounts. Included are methods used to record non-current assets and depreciation. Prepare Final Accounts For Sole Traders and Partnerships The unit builds on skills and knowledge acquired in the level 2 units. The unit is concerned with preparing final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, incorporating elements of dealing with incomplete records, final accounts, and legislative requirement Costs and Revenues The purpose of this unit is to ensure that students know and understand the role of costing in an organisation, and how organisations use cost and revenue information for decision- making. Indirect tax The unit is designed to ensure that learners can understand basic VAT regulations, accurately complete VAT returns, and communicate VAT information to relevant people. As VAT is subject to specific and detailed regulations, the learner should be able to seek guidance from relevant sources, process what is found and communicate this to others. Professional Ethics This knowledge unit recognises the importance of the ethical duties of an accounting technician, including understanding the ethical responsibility of the finance professional in promoting sustainability, with two assessment criteria. Spreadsheets This unit is about the learner having the ability to use a software application designed to record data in rows and columns, perform calculations with numerical data, and also present the information using charts and graphs.
