ESOL Level 2 - Writing Award

Our ESOL classes are for you if English is not your first language. If you are settling or living in the UK we have courses for learners of all abilities. These courses will help you to read, write, speak and understand English to help you in everyday life; for example to help your children, communicate with others or to improve your skills for work. If you want to improve your English to get a job we can help you. Our ESOL courses look at topics related to living and working in Britain. You will work on improving your speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills for everyday use in life and work. You will work on improving your writing skills so that by the end of the course you are able to write a variety of everyday texts for different purposes, accurately and fluently. On this course you will learn how to: - Write texts using a range of different formats and structures and in a variety of styles suitable for different purposes, such as to persuade, to inform, to describe and to give instructions - Plan, draft and write different types of formal and informal texts such as letters, emails and reports - Sequence and organise your information and ideas in writing, using paragraphs, with an appropriate level of detail to get your points across - Write using a wide range of grammar accurately, including verbs, verb tenses and subject verb agreement, adverbs, adjectives, nouns and pronouns, conjunctions, articles and prepositions in correctly written complex sentences - Write using accurate punctuation including commas, apostrophes and inverted commas - Fill in complex forms for personal and professional purposes
