This is a project based course structured around units which cover an introduction to ideas, materials and techniques relevant to textile and fashion design, and to enable students to explore the potential of a chosen medium and its potential.This is a project based course structured around 3/4 units.These units will cover ideas, materials and techniques relevant to textile and fashion design, and to enable students to explore the potential of a chosen medium and its potential. You will develop skills in surface pattern design, fabric manipulation, and assemblage using techniques and processes. You will explore historical and cultural influences and visit galleries and museums. You will be encouraged to experiment with traditonal and non traditional materials and to analyse your design ideas.
