English Functional Skills Mixed Levels This course is designed to give learners practical skills for the modern world and help to get the most from life, learning and work. The course develops good communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Before you begin this course you will have attended a Functional Skills Drop In Session. Here you will have carried out an initial assessment of your skills and talked to the tutor about what you want to achieve, when you want to achieve by, any barriers that might stop you from reaching your goals and the commitment that studying with us will need. You will have started to complete an individualised plan of your learning and you will have discussed setting some targets and goals. When you move into this Functional skills class you will review your targets with the tutor and agree what qualifications will be the best for you. We will continue to complete your individualised learning plan and agree target dates for completion of your studies. Each learner will learn on their own individualised learning aim, however, you will take part in group, paired and individual activities. There will be a range of different teaching and learning methods used throughout the course in order that we can help you to achieve your goals.
