Year one: * texts in context: you will study a wide range of 19th century poems and literary texts with a view to examining all aspects of Victorian life * creative study: produce a portfolio of course work which will include two essays; one will be on a selected prose text and the other will be on a selected drama text Year two: * reading for meaning: understand the different ways writers approach a chosen theme and how readers interpret texts * extended essay and Shakespeare study: select three texts, including one Shakespeare play, to produce an extended essay
