There are two qualifications available - an AS level in one year or an A level in two years. These are separate courses and transfer from one to the other is NOT possible at the end of year 1. Don't worry - this will be discussed in full with you at your personal interview which will be arranged with you on receipt of your application. The course builds on the chemical concepts and knowledge which were introduced at GCSE. Topics like atomic structure, rates of reaction, organic chemistry, covalent and ionic bonding, reversible reactions and many more are developed up to A Level standard.
