Apprenticeships are available at different levels, with different durations respective to the level. An Apprenticeship is a real job with training. Apprentices are able to earn while they learn and pick up recognised qualifications as they go. They take between one and four years to complete and cover 1,400 job roles in a wide range of industries, from things like engineering to financial advice, veterinary nursing to accountancy. In Steps to Work most learners commence on an Intermediate apprenticeship programme which spans a minimum of 366 days or alternatively we also offer an Advanced level Apprenticeship

Name: Retail Level 2 Qualification title: Certificate in Retail Skills (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The NVQ is delivered and assessed in the workplace through an assessor visit every 4-6 weeks for up to 2.5 hours. The assessor will set the learner a variety of tasks to complete to assist their development towards their work skills and components of their apprenticeship programme. - The qualification contains mandatory units which cover core elements pertinent to the subject area that is undertaken. On top of these, additional optional units are selected by the learner. These will need to reflect the job role that they hold, so that they can generate evidence of the skills that they are demonstrating within the workplace. These units are assessed by a qualified assessor using a variety of methods. This can include observation, discussion, verbal or written questioning, looking at work product, research (please note some time may be required for the learner to be away from their physical work tasks to enable them to hold a discussion with their assessor during this time.
