CACHE Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children (QCF). Students currently spend two and a half days per week in class at College to support their learning around childcare and enhance their Maths and English skills. Students need to spend up to 10 hours outside of College time completing course work in order to achieve their individual learning plan.The College Learning Curve is accessible five days a week and students may prefer to use these facilities to support their study. In semester two, students are offered the opportunity to undertake 10 days work experience arranged by the College. Assessment is carried out through a range of methods; including written tasks, posters, leaflets, presentations and practical activities to assess learning. The qualification is dependent upon satisfactory completion of all coursework and assignments for the 12 units, which include subjects like: Listening to and Talking with a Young Child, Growth and Development of Young Children, Practical Health and Safety when with children and Finding out about Forest Schools.
