This course gives you the knowledge and skills to work with a large variety of hair types and develops your awareness of the industry. It is ideal if you have some experience of hairdressing already and want to progress further with your hairdressing and barbering talents and get the techniques to work as a stylist. We have plenty of professional suppliers coming to college to deliver bespoke training on latest products and equipment. This is boosted by employers and salon owners giving demonstrations and talks on making it in the sector. As well as work experience in our salon there can also be opportunities for experience in professional salons - previous students have even seen this lead to part-time work. As well as internal competitions, there are also a number of local and national competitions that you'll get involved with. In the prestigious WorldSkills competitions we've put through plenty of our students and this is a great way to learn from your peers and to be exposed to new experiences. As a Level 3 student, you'll be mentoring and supervising Level 1 and Level 2 students so you'll have real experience of operating in a supervisory role.
