There is national and international recognition of the key role nutrition plays on health and athletic performance. Because of this, the career opportunities within sport and exercise nutrition have increased. You will learn how to assess and plan nutrition for improved sporting performance. We have an elite sports academy on site so you will have many opportunities to work with elite student athletes in a range of sporting disciplines including rugby, football, netball, modern pentathlon, rowing and golf. Practice will be rigorously underpinned by theory so that when you graduate you will have a thorough understanding of the biochemical and physiological implications of the nutritional advice you recommend We will work closely with you as an individual to develop the skills and critical insight to provide appropriate nutritional advice for health or sporting performance. You will be taught by staff who are not only respected academics in their field, but are also advanced practitioners who have worked with a wide variety of athletes. The Sport and Exercise Nutrition programme can be completed full time in three years; part time routes are available and should be planned with your programme manager.
