This qualification is perfect if you are 18+ and want to take the next step in to job roles such as: Community Care/Support Officers, Social Care Assessors, Care Assessment Officers, Community Care Assessment Officers or Social Services Officers. You must be working in health and social care adult settings for a minimum of 25 hours per week, have a recognised and relevant Level 3 qualification and at least one year's post qualification experience. You develop fundamental and specialist knowledge in areas such as safeguarding and protection, personalisation in care, health and safety in health care settings, inclusive practice and equality and diversity, dementia care and stroke care management in adult social care. You also gain a range of practical and cognitive skills including developing and maintaining accurate records, facilitating support planning and person centred assessment, partnership working, mentoring and advanced communication skills. You will need to have a good level of English, on the first class you will undertake an assessment to confirm this. In addition to progressing in your career, you may also progress towards Level 5 qualifications for managers and advanced practitioners, such as the Leadership for Health and Social Care Level 5 Diploma.
