Residential Childcare BTEC Level 3 Diploma

This course is ideal if you are 18+ and work or want to work in residential childcare settings in England. You will develop your abilities, knowledge and skills in job roles such as residential care worker or short break carer. Please note this qualification is a direct replacement for the Children and Young People's Workforce Level 3 Diploma Social Care pathway.You need at least 1 year's current experience and/or an existing Level 2 qualification. You are also required to be working either as a paid employee or as a volunteer in a children's residential setting for a minimum of 14 hours per week at the start of and for the duration of, this course as you will be assessed in the workplace. As this course requires a good level of English, you will undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place.On completing this qualification, you may progress on to the Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) Level 5 Diploma or the Health and Social Care Level 4 HNC. You could also find work in roles such as senior care worker, advanced practitioner in residential care, support worker, registered manager of a children's home and youth worker.
