This qualification is aimed at people interested in working in adult social care. You will develop the professional knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to work in this sector. Topics include: communication, the role of the social care worker, handling information, health and safety, safeguarding and duty of care. As this is an intensive course whichrequires a good level of English, you will undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place. After successfully completing this course, you could progress in to paid or voluntary work in adult social care. If you wish to progress on to the Health & Social Care Level 2 Diploma, you will need to have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of work experience and then maintain a minimum of 14 hours a week during the course. Government funding has changed for this course and is dependent upon your age and personal circumstances. Therefore, course costs are discussed on an individual basis.
