Children & Young People's Workforce Level 2 Certificate

This course is the recognised qualification for people working in the Childcare sector with children and young people aged 019 years. It will improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of childcare settings. You must be 18 or over to enrol and must have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary or paid work experience in a childcare setting before starting the course. As this course requires a good level of English, you will undertake an assessment during the first class to confirm your place. You will need to be working a minimum of 14 hours per week in a childcare setting on a voluntary/paid basis at the start of, and for the duration of, this course, as you will be assessed in the workplace. We will need to obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting on the course. You are expected to remain in the same setting for the length of the course. After successful completion, you may wish to progress on to a Level 3 qualification. There are a range of qualifications you could do dependant upon your current workplace/career goals and your tutor will advise you when you finish the course. Please note, if you wish to work in Early Years you will need to have a Maths and English GCSEs grades AC prior to starting the course.
