Access to Higher Education (Computer Programming)

The Access to Higher Education diploma is a one year course. You study mandatory modules in Computer Systems, Systems Analysis & Design, and Computer Programming. In addition, you will study further IT/web based units. This will mean attending the College for approximately 15 hours per week and depending on your unit choice, this may spread over the full week. You will also need to be prepared to study for a further 1520 hours in your personal time. An Access course aims tobuild confidence, develop study and written skills and offer you the opportunity to improve your maths and English. You could also take a two year study option by completing GCSEs in English and maths first.Government funding has changed for this course and is dependent upon your age and personal circumstances. Therefore, course costs are discussed on an individual basis. If you are aged 24 or over then you may be able to apply for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.
