This professional, workrelated qualification helps you develop the practical skills, backed up by theory that you need to get a job in this industry. You gain a 'Licence to practice' as an Early Years Practitioner, essential to finding work in Childcare. The areas you study include child development, play & learning, reflective practice, observation, assessment & planning and supporting children's speech, communication & language. For two days each week, you gain important work experience. This includes three separate placements in different settings covering the various groups in the 08 age range. In total, you will need to complete 750 hours in placement. Please note, you need to purchase a College polo shirt (approx £11) and may wish to purchase a College hoodie (approx £17).
