This course gives you a fantastic introduction to working with adults in health and social care settings or working with children. You learn how to help professionals support adults and children. Topics include understanding service provision, principles and values, equality and inclusion, safeguarding, health and safety issues, communication skills and person centred approaches to care. To prepare you for the workplace, you complete a unit on the experience of work and visit a range of health and social care and childcare settings to help you decide where you would like to work in the future. You also learn skills which help you with your studies and getting a job such as Personal & Social Development. In addition, gain important Functional Skills qualifications in maths, English and ICT.
