Psychology A Level. Psychology is a scientific exploration of human behaviour and emotion. It uses different psychological perspectives to explain both normal and abnormal behaviours. On this course you will have an opportunity to develop an understanding of the main theoretical perspectives within the subject, including; biological, behavioural, cognitive, psychodynamic and the positive approach. You will study research methods and understand how psychological investigations are carried out and have the opportunity to apply this knowledge to small scale investigations. You will also develop skills that will allow you to collect and analyse data using statistical analysis. In addition you will study the application of psychology to real life looking specifically at the causes of mental illness, and theories of crime. Finally you will also cover issues and debates in Psychology including whether human behaviour is determined or due to free will. A2MPSY
