This course is designed for students wishing to gain employment in the Health & Social Care sectors or progress onto further study at a higher level. This course will emphasise the development of practical skills and the health and social care sector. The course will provide students with the understanding related to the knowledge and skills for employment in the sector as well as developing personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life. It will also include specialist studies relevant to individual professions within the health and social care sector. A final purpose of the course is to prepare individuals to progress to further professional development through future study or career advancement. This course is suitable for students who are aged 18 years and over, who are capable of reaching the required standards and who wish to develop careers in health and social care services. You will study a range of units relevant to health and social care including the following: * Communicating in Health & Social Care Organisations * Principles of Health & Social Care Practice * Health and Safety in the Health & Social Care Workplace * Working in Partnership in Health & Social Care * Supporting Independent Living * Personal and Professional Development (this unit requires a minimum of 200 hours of work experience to be completed) All LMC students receive tutorial support.
