This course is designed for anyone wanting to work in the creative media industries. You might want to be a computer games designer, a film maker, an animator or an interactive web designer. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in the creative digital media industry or those who are progressing from a related Level 2 course. You will study the following 7 Mandatory units: * Pre-Production Techniques for the Creative Media Industries * Communication Skills for Creative Media Production * Research Techniques for the Creative Media Industries * Creative Media Production Management Project * Working to a Brief in the Creative Media Industries * Critical Approaches to Creative Media Products * Understanding the Creative Media Sector These will be followed by a range of optional units to allow you to explore a range of specialist areas. These could include: * 3D Modelling * 3D Environments * Drawing Concept Art for Computer Games * Computer Game Design * Computer Game Platforms and Technologies * Understanding Video Technology * Single Camera Techniques * Multi-Camera Techniques * Writing for Television and Video The course is delivered through a series of assignments that are supported by theory and practical sessions. The course is approximately 65% practical and 35% theory (the majority of this forms background research, evaluation and planning for your productions). The course is designed to give you an all-round experience of the creative media industries allowing you to make an informed choice about your career direction. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
