The course covers knowledge required for a career in the in the engineering / power industries. There is strong element of mathematics and science including extended certificates in engineering and applied science & maths. This course is aimed at preparing students to enter the world of engineering by giving them grounding in working safely and effectively plus interpreting and using engineering information together with an introduction to computer aided design (CAD). The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in engineering maintenance operation in major installations / power plants. You will study a number of units such as: * Maths for Engineering Technicians and Using Mathematical Tools in Science. * Interpreting and Using Engineering Information and Engineering Maintenance Procedures. * Application of Physical Science and Chemistry and Our Earth * Biology and Our Environment and Energy and Our Environment All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills including maths and English.
